Vintage shapewear – Fashion Needs a fifties fifties silhouette
Fifties and sixties shapewear is in news again, partly as a result of series TV Mad Men. Actresses don the original sixties pull-on girdles to achieve women with shapely figures flaunting enjoyed by all fifties until the call came for them to 'burn their bras' and be liberated! Today, the fashions are back with vengeance.
Some people collect vintage shapewear purely for the pleasure of owning a collection of vintage fashion history, others buy and wear more purchase as an investment. Unlike modern retro prints with different kinds of pitfalls to contact if you are going in the field of vintage girdles and corsetry for the first time. The first question that I often asked why someone should buy lingerie fifties when as a wide selection of modern lingerie available.
