Selecting the Right Compound Bow For You
Almost all hunters nowadays use the compound bow. The advantage of the bows that they might reduce required to hold the bow back to a full draw. They can reduce the power from between 50-80%. The reduction in force, called the release, lets you hold your draw for a longer time than you are a standard long bow. It provides the time needed to get the perfect goal. The release percentage is an important factor in choosing the right compound bow for you.
Cams
Almost all of the compound bow makers now offer their products with 1 or 2 Cams.
One-Cam Bow
The advantage of an incline cam is no need to synchronize the same as in the Cams an arch with two Cams. Instead of the wheel at the top of the arch, called the idler wheel, uses 2 tracks to ensure that the arrow will travel along a straight path.
Two-Cam Bow
Two cam bows come in three different styles; soft, medium and hard cam.
Soft cam compound bow is irregular shaped lobes. It provides the same string of a smooth draw and faster and power.
Moderate Cams symmetrically shaped lobes. Both are round, and while a draw is not smooth soft cam, the medium of the cam has more energy storage and therefore faster.
Hard Cams have lobes elliptic shape. While the draw is the least of smooth 3 Cams, this is the fastest of all styles. The difficult Cams Cams called chopper.
As to where the cam is best – for you? The difficult cam takes the most strength to draw back. In addition, the compound bow should be held fully still while the arrow is launched. The slightest movement of the bow will cause the direction of the arrow changed dramatically. The soft and medium bows both require less force to draw the bow back fully. In addition, they provide such a good shot of hard cam from about 20-30 yards, which is about standard length a hunting shot.
Adjusting the Draw Length
One way to adjust the length of the pull-back has an E-wheel. Wheel has 2 pegs and string draw is adjusted by placing my strings behind 1 of 2 pegs.
The other way is to change the string module is located on Cams. The same procedures increase the draw length with the issue of weight. Reverse the reduction in the long draw down the Draw Weight of your compound bow.
Let-Off
The way a cam is designed determines that the release of the compound bow. Let-off can be as high as 80% and as low of 50%. With a compound bow with a 80% free, which means that you are holding 16 pounds of weight when string is pulled completely back. Reduction of weight control will reduce stored energy and therefore the speed of the arrow. The better to let off that around 60%. Some Compound Bows you to change the release by of altering the axle cam or cam module.
When purchasing your compound bow keep the above things in mind. Remember the best bow is the one that allows on-off just under your chin. In addition do not want to draw a term too heavy. Good luck and happy Hunting Bow!
