Banjo Straps – Selection and Use
Banjo straps are similar to guitar straps. They are worn over the shoulder and across the chest to keep the instrument be firm and a comfortable height. Most adjustable between 40 and 52 inches and is using one of two methods. The most popular use start with a sliding strap, like a backpack. A button loop system is also often used. It provides a clean, contemporary look, especially if A shoulder pad is not used. Although straps are built using many different materials, both natural and synthetic, leather is the most popular already.
When attaching the strap banjo, many of the players incorporated into the front end of a strap brackets under the heel of the neck, the rump of a strap brackets under the tail. Other methods include the use of cradle or web straps. They thread in all brackets. Due to the large difference in weight from one type of banjo in others, it is recommended hammock straps that are used to weight instruments. It provides greater stability. If you have a guitar strap, there are kits available to modify it for use a banjo.
Some things to remember when shopping for a banjo strap. If you have difficulty balancing the instrument, consider a leather strap. This handles the banjo better place than a strap of synthetic. Make sure it is adjustable. Although most, sometimes you come across one that is not. If your instrument is heavy, consider a wide, padded strap, between three and four inches. This will cut down on discomfort when worn for long periods of time. Avoid elastic straps. Although it sounds cool, they are too stretchy and more of a nuisance to a convenience.
From mass produced polypropylene and nylon eye straps banjo in high quality handicraft or custom straps, there is a wide array to choose from. If you want something edgy and contemporary, laid-back and vintage or hand-tooled and bejeweled, there's something to fit all styles, trends and budget.
