If you lose your health insurance, You Get Cobra
Once my wife and I bought our first house, I was working as a salesman vehicle and making good money. We found out that my wife was pregnant with our second child, and things are looking very good for us.
Apparently, the company I worked for was a problem for a while but no one except the boss knows it. Revenue was down for several months, but the staff are not know the problems. The first sign of trouble when the boss started doing some cut spending around the office: no free coffee; no company a car for salesmen; different types of light bulbs around the building; various toiletries. The boss finally told us about problem and told us that even spending the cracks in the bottom line is still in chaos. He said instead of laying off employees, he cut back on work hours for office and sales staff and its manager has the option of a pay cut, reduced hours or leave the company. One manager chose to leave, and he was not replaced.
Four months the company still are having financial problems. The boss still refuses to cut anyone, so the next thing to take away from us is health insurance coverage. This is bad news for my wife and I since he was five months pregnant. Without insurance, we will have to pay for prenatal care and delivery of hospital bill ourselves, and that can be very expensive. We need insurance to cover pregnancy, so it seems I only have two choices: buy Cobra insurance to cover pregnancy or find a new job that offered an HMO insurance plan from an HMO will cover pre-existing pregnancy.
I ended up staying in the car dealership and purchase of Cobra insurance. My wife and I decided we need the Cobra insurance to cover the whole family in case of illness or injury, not only pregnancy, and will cost U.S. $ 450 per month. We want to get arrogant with large doctor bills if we ended up in hospital. Payment that is difficult for us to make each month, but we managed reworking our budget and watch our spending. We also used a credit card when we need to.
We We are happy to buy insurance for the whole family. We had two incidents are one of us ended up in hospital. My boys got sick and had to spend some night in the hospital, and I got hurt in a do-it-yourself projects at home. The cost for the two bills are thousands of dollars more than what Cobra costs paid us for four months. All completed we will pay the co-payment each time we went to the hospital.
I still work for a car dealership, and my company not offer health insurance. Fortunately, we are covered under the insurance for work my husband. With two small children are We want for him to stay home and take care of home and family and maybe baby-sit a couple of other kids, but we need to have his health insurance.
