What follows is a near word for word the online version © 1986 my booklet strange eschatology: an alternative view of the second coming (ISBN 0-9616435-0-1; Library of Congress Call Number BT823.M55 1986). CHAPTER ONE

A plausible timetable

Are you a Christian? Do you believe in the Second Coming in some date in the future? Is it legitimate to construct the timetable for future events?
Rhetorical questions like the right turn off the bats may well put you the. A major difficulty that is not agreed as to when and to what sequence these predicted events must occur. This subject has always been a particular source of schism and controversy. I am proposing specific dates much as each generation before me. And like many have before me, I was refuted by mere way of time.

There exists a school, represented , for example, Max King and Timothy James, holding that each and every prophecy of the New Testament is fulfilled during the early Church age. However, I think I see neglects proper consideration of the Book of Revelation.
Postmillennialism also sometimes referred to as preterism, indicating that the text is allowed to speak without Exegesis. So, when repeatedly that Jesus predicted the Kingdom within a generation, do not write off the statement as a mistake or excess of energy. Instead, I draw a timetable showing that the Kingdom beginning of a generation after the crucifixion. Then, when John of Patmos said the Millennium begins to date the beginning of the Kingdom, I duly go to my chart (the end of this chapter) and set the Thousand Year Clock ticking. There is indeed a certain date a generation after pagpapako the cross – the pivotal date of AD 70. This is the story of the date of the Fall of Jerusalem, which is not a particularly prominent date in more fundamental discussion. This is the date of the First Resurrection terminology of John in Patmos that begins with Millennium.
What happened in AD 70? After a long siege of the Roman legions, Jerusalem was ransacked and leveled. For secular eyes, as detailed by Sam josephus THE war against the gory details, the landscape is one of mass destruction which not even the Temple was denied. But the spiritual eye, as Russell's PAROUSIA showed more than a century ago, the event is the fulfillment of the Olivet discourse and the return of Jesus and his conquering armies in the clouds to begin the spiritual reign of the saints and martyrs. Other sources listed in the Bibliography includes Chilton's Paradise Restore embraced this view. Chilton suggested Jerusalem as whore of Babylon and Rome as the Beast. (Note added 2006: In 1986 I Timetable I followed Chilton. Since I reverse my opinion. Now I see Rome as the harlot and Jerusalem as the Beast.)
I need to stop for a moment to consider the question of dating the Book of Revelation. The current accepted date for the emergence of the Book of Revelation is AD 95. If this is the correct date, the fulfillment of predictions made so far is only a matter of hindsight. I recommended John AT Robinson's analysis of these questions REDATING to the New Testament. Robinson cites extensive internal and external evidence for moving the date of the Book of Revelation back to AD 70 period. Further, he traces the AD 95 standard view back to one source. This source is a statement by Irenaeus that the Apocalypse first appeared "toward the end of Domitian's reign. "This statement is not secure and may even just wrong. Other sources listed in the Bibliography (including Chilton and James) receives earlier a date.
The Book of Revelation represents a significant amplification of the preceding Gospels and Epistles. Here the concept of the Millennium was introduced for the first and only time. The timetable presented by John of Patmos extends forward into the future Doomsday and the building of New Jerusalem, thereby completing the New Testament Canon.
Working hours of the Millennium period, lasting from approximately 70 AD 1070 AD, the starting point is the spiritual event, the Parousia, such as detailed by Russell and Chilton. But secular historians looking back at this time period as a whole has labeled it the Dark Ages. More recently that assumption has been headed by showing the development and technical development that occurred in the Middle and Far East during the years. But it remains true for Western civilization, particularly Western Europe for years, these are times of unprecedented barbarism and ignorance. During this time the blood of countless martyrs have spilled belatedly in laying down the Roman Empire and the establishment of the Church. Violence is the order of the day and sugarcoating or colored glass is not needed. The First Resurrection is an event of mass destruction and the Kingdom or Millennium is a time of barbarism. In other words, it is no accident or chance that the fulfillment of apocalyptic prediction. Instead, there is an important principle to remember, because I point out that Doomsday can also mass destruction and the New Jerusalem to follow appear unrelated to eyes again religion is relative barbarism. I will take up thoughts later Chapters.
Why not start Doomsday AD1070 about the end of the Millennium? History, Many people living and then expect to see the Messiah return. The answer to that is rather the date that Satan is not bound for its time. Here I part company with many of the sources listed in the Bibliography. They prefer to see the Millennium as an indefinite period of expansion potential thousands years, with Satan loosed for his time just shortly before the Second Coming. They saw the Church still during the millennium consolidating and expanding its gains eventually convert the whole world immediately before the arrival. On the contrary, I hold that John of Patmos really mean an hour in approximately a thousand years, Satan is at work sowing of his evil. I admit that the time has now lasted almost a thousand years in its own right. One consolation this extended period is finally about to come to a near. Satan is very busy from my views during the last century. Examples of his lack of work would be like events such as revival, the Reformation, the Counter-Reformation, the Inquisition, the explanation, the Industrial Revolution on down to simultaneously horrific mass movement. I will be accused of being a feudalist or an obscurantist here. However, I look back to the Kingdom too the time approaching the New Jerusalem. I also in agreement with premillennialists with respect to profound joy. History, for the eighteen century strong joy is taken as essentially simultaneous arrival. It is through detailed, among others, MacPherson THE GREAT Raptor fraud and Kimball THE intense joy: A QUESTION OF timing. MacPherson shows that the nineteenth century called Scotch clairvoyant Margaret MacDonald sa 1830 introduced the Raptor pretribulational – A temporal separation of a Secret rapture from the Second Coming. Should remember that because I get a preterist perspective, put less emphasis on seeing the events that occurred in the First Resurrection exactly duplicated the Day of punishment. CHAPTER TWO

A FIRST LOOK AT Norman O. Brown

There's a good possibility you not heard of O. Norman Brown or pay any of his writings. His books are now a generation old and partly out of print. Perhaps the few issues he raised was the deliberate passage of time.
I think when his book originally came out Brown took only a sexual radicals. I say this only in the sense that Brown was under discussion when I just felt that what he is about. A superficial reading His enigmatic, aphoristic style was indeed give this impression. However, the actual subject of two of his books, LOVE'S BODY (1966) and during closing (1973) was a religion. Two books, closing time is currently out of print but necessary for a complete picture. With these two Brown books actually solve the mystery of religion. I am here claiming that if you understand these books will have all your questions answered in religion? Yes, that indeed is what I'm redemption. Brown will get all the way to the inner sanctum. If you are able to solve Brown's dilemma, is simultaneously resolution of the mysteries of religion. I say this fully aware that Brown's knowledge makes it a perpetual do.
If I have piqued your curiosity, and you decide to view Brown, the best way might be looking at some other sources of a start. It all there in Brown in plain English, you understand, but you can have more success by circling from around. A good source out of print from the same period was Eric Gutkind's THE BODY OF GOD: FIRST STEP IN to the anti-theology. Book is written in an aphoristic style. Comparing the title of this book on LOVE'S BODY will give you a clue to start you on the way to solve the Brown. Looking from the philosophical side, Michael Harrington's political ALLOWED FOR GOD'S funeral astutely asks all the right questions. Do the best book written in Jesus Christ is OUR Constantin Brunner's: the rise of mystical genius (1921). Here an interesting sentence from the book: "There he hung, a blasphemer of God and slander the most noble man, the poor malicious fool, the profligate incorrigble the whoreson Whore and merchants, the cheat, the liar, the secucer. "The so-called radical Freudians, in general, as Marcuse, Reich and Roheim addition to Brown are related.
No room for an Exegesis of Brown. Instead I'll have to frame a central ideas – the importance of the first Scene. For the uninitiated, the first Scene is what the father and Mom is in bedroom. Now even Freud's disciples struggled to see the importance Scene before the Oedipal and repeatedly attempted to change their master. "Who God will destroy, they first drive mad" I need to ask some questions about this list to clarify it. At first glance, looking over this by no means complete list, it appears that we need to get our umbrella (or perhaps a degree in meteorology). The first question to ask is: How many of these are phrases that you found before? Try to think where, if anywhere, any of these phrases are found. After thinking it over, you can decide that some show in literature, some may be from the Bible, but many them came from the media.
The next question about the list would be: put in by all the phrases together as I do, I said so intention phrases imply that each is identical or synonymous with each phrase in the list? No, they are interchangeable in only some cases, but they are interrelated. What then do these phrases have in common? My answer is that all bear a direct relationship with a single phrase:

Mass Psychosis

This particular phrase, Mass Psychosis, you are probably more likely to have come across. Mass Psychosis is the actual meaning of the fundamentalist Secret doctrine of profound joy.
Now I am not sure if one had a chance to interview rock star Prince and ask him what he means by of Purple Rain that he did not immediately reply, "a codeword for mass Psychosis." Similarly, Bob Dylan will not be inclined to say, "When I sang about Idiot Wind, I studied mass Psychosis. This I want to stop discussion list and return to end this chapter with more comments. Let me briefly return to the general subject of the media. By media I mean the All the conduits through which the payment amount to U.S. entertainment – film, radio, television, etc. Because television is such a voracious appetite, I using the term media and TV more or less interchangeably. Think how TV, to fill each and every time, gobbles the output of other media, from film to stage plays even rock music in the form of music video. Some of us are logging in nearly a third of our lives glued to the set of today. As a baby boomer, I teethed on TV and taken its pervasive influence for granted. However, after decades of exposure we are now, I feel it is time we should begin a serious analysis of the media. Its influence is probably greater than the larger sources of literary now.

Let me look at media criticism in terms of increasing levels of depths. Minimum, most abysmal level, the media is seen as giving harmless entertainment. Slightly better is the extreme right wing Evangelical view that TV and films is the image of the book the devil and rock music is the music of the devil. Approach is the benefit of being factually correct, but has increasingly fallen into hard times in all but the diehards have capitulated and joined the media cacophony themselves. Huge block of radio broadcast time and the cable network is devoted to selling Jesus sandwiched between ads for soap and used cars.
Slightly more discriminating is the idea that TV is a tele and rock music is destructive waste, and exposure to one or both can permanently warp your brain. The ultimate goal is to produce a race of mindless, godless, maganang eat giant (the return of the "people of Fame" by Genesis as described by Brown in the closing time)?
What keeps the fact mesmerized us by the images flickering time after time? Why so many of us couch potatoes – almost frozen into stone statues? What are we really watching? The answer from Norman O. Brown was that we are seeing the first Oedipal Scene reenacted night after night in the endless repetition with slight variations. Things you, "Forgive me. I watch a game show followed by a comedy situation last night. "What we really doing here is paying performers to put on display just we want to see.
Finally, at the highest level of criticism, we also simultaneously get the final verdict in the media. We are watching Jesus was crucified get night after night in excruciating detail, although we may not consciously aware of it. After a decade of it, I think it is likely take us a few days. A quite similar theme was presented to THE VILLAGE OF Damned (1960) and the sequel THE CHILDREN OF Damned (1964) (what questions to make these titles end?). THE FLIM Flam MAN (1967) is a little con artist living by her head. CHARLY (1968) is mentally retarded to a chemically transformed supermind. On of class power (1971), the candidate is an obvious psychopath. THE OMEGA MAN (1971), a remake of THE LAST MAN on earth (1964), (note the title) offers another replacement Messiah. Sa ZARDOZ (1973), the Christ figure is a napakawalang hiya.
Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (2004) have villan as a person in his grave named German Toden Kopf (Death's Head). He has to have ladder a new Noah's ark built.
